Dr. Jones is a medical doctor specializing in psychiatry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, based in Austin, Texas. He holds dual board certifications in Adult Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He holds a full active medical license in Texas and is a member of the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians.

He received his Bachelor of Science from Baylor University majoring in Biology. He was commissioned as an Army officer prior to medical school and received his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in Temple, Texas. He completed his General Adult Psychiatry Internship and Residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.

After completing his training, Dr. Jones served as the First Cavalry Division Psychiatrist in Fort Cavazos, TX, during which time he was the Behavioral Health Consultant to the Commanding General and aided in practice and policy improvement for over 20,000 soldiers.  Dr. Jones finished his Army career serving as a staff Adult and Child Psychiatrist at Keller Army Community Hospital at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. He served honorably as an Army officer in the Individual Ready Reserve for four years and completed nine years of active duty service.

Dr. Jones specializes in diagnostic assessments, medication management, and psychotherapy for ages six and above. Diagnostic assessments in certain situations can even be performed in ages three and above. He believes in comprehensive care that extends beyond medication use and is a proponent of incorporating family, academic, and social support. Throughout his career, he has maintained expertise in treating both pediatric and adult patients.
